I get an error message when I
try to import an image
The program you are using may not have the correct
"filter" installed. Graphics "filters" allow the program to translate
from one file
format to another. Try importing a different format (e.g. .GIF instead of .PCX). If
this doesn't work install the correct filter or use a graphics
utility to convert the image into a format you can use.
The image you are trying to import may be too large for
your system. Try using a smaller (lower resolution) image. Always use the lowest
resolution image which produces acceptable quality.
Now that I imported an image, my file won't fit on a floppy
disk.
Image files are large, and compound documents (e.g. word
processing files containing images) are even larger. One solution is to compress the file
using a utility.
When I print the images on my laser printer, they come out
too dark or too light.
If you are printing a color image on a black and white
laser printer, try using the gray scale version instead (see Readme.Doc or Readme.Txt on
the CD-ROM). Some colors, like red and blue, dont print well on a black and white
printer.
You may able to adjust the darkness of graphics images. The
default setting, for example, is often too dark when the toner cartridge is new. The exact
procedure for doing this depends on the printer and operating system you are using. You
can usually find the control in the Printer Properties or Printer Driver Settings dialog
boxes.
I can't import any images from the 3-D Safety CD-ROM using
Microsoft Word for Mac.
Download the Microsoft
Internet Assistant. This free product will give you the GIF import filter necessary to
work with images from the CD-ROM. You could also use a graphics
utility to convert the images into PICT or TIFF format which can be imported by
Microsoft Word for Mac.
