Performed office ergonomics evaluations for the Applied Materials CSS organization. Developed and marketed a website that allows user to quickly and easily create a customized safety program for a small business. This website is not yet available to the public, but the URL and password are available on request.

Developed internet marketing strategy for the largest independent safety supply distributor in California. Managed the launch of a new database backed e-Commerce web site supporting real time ordering of nearly 5,000 safety products. Designed and programmed an improved database for storing product information for safety products.

Support the Applied Materials industrial ergonomics program on a part-time outsource basis. Perform ergonomic evaluations of semiconductor tool integration and test, manual wafer transfer, warehousing, and other operations.

Resident contractor to Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company. Provided comprehensive occupational safety and health services to business units. Managed the company’s noise and bloodborne pathogens programs. Backed-up the Radiation Safety Officer. Conducted pre-purchase chemical reviews and edit manufacturing instructions for safety and health content. Trained 50 line managers and supervisors on Job Hazard Analysis.

Provided occupational health and safety consulting services to Agilent, Cypress Semiconductor, Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceuticals, Chevron Corporation, and other clients. Developed written ESH programs, performed employee training, collected and interpreted air samples during semi-conductor tool maintenance activities, and conducted office ergonomics evaluations.

Conducted indoor air quality investigations and performed a comprehensive industrial hygiene baseline of the Ames Research facility. Member of the Emergency Response team responsible for chemical safety. Helped manage respiratory protection, confined space entry, and industrial noise programs.

1/1/98 - 7/23/99: Manage development of Loss Control Computer Applications supporting over 100 field Loss Control staff. Projects include (some projects were initiated prior to 1/1/98):

• deployment of a client/server service activity documentation application
• design and deployment of a web-based Loss Analysis product
• development & launch of a Loss Control intranet web site
• initiated, designed, and managed development of a knowledge based expert system to provide ergonomics advice to computer users
• designed an automated risk assessment system.

6/1/95 - 1/1/98: Managed a regional office (six industrial hygienists, two clerks and approximately $1 million budget) providing occupational safety and health consultation services to State Fund policyholders south of Fresno.

4/90 - 6/1/95: Provided consultation services to policyholders including hazard identification, environmental measurements, design of engineering controls, indoor air quality, ergonomics, employee training, and written occupational health and safety programs.

Develop and market a CD-ROM containing images for safety and health professionals.

Drafted a Request for Proposal for industrial hygiene services related to asbestos removal. Reviewed proposals and commented on the first deliverables provided by the consultant.

Helped design and implement a company wide baseline industrial hygiene survey. Wrote Material Safety Data Sheets for several products. Designed a new environmental measurements database.

Managed asbestos abatement and underground storage tank removal on the Los Angeles Metro Rail (subway) project. Conducted environmental impact assessments and industrial facility permitting. Helped conduct a regulatory impact analysis of Proposition 65.
